Talks over Kyle Walker are set to take place imminently between Manchester City and Tottenham, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports claimed on their official website on Monday that City are close to approaching Tottenham over the potential signing of the 27-year-old.

The report revealed that City boss Pep Guardiola is confident that the right-back will be making the move to the Etihad this summer, and hopes that he can bag the England international for as close to £40 million as possible.

Despite Guardiola’s confidence, Sky have claimed that Tottenham are reluctant to sell the right-back which has meant the club are now valuing Walker at closer to £50million.

It is said that talks could begin as soon as this week once Walker has completed his international duties with England against France on Tuesday.

The London club want to keep the England international as they begin their 2017/18 Premier League campaign after the right-back helped Tottenham achieve the best defence record in the Premier League for the second year running.

Walker made 39 appearances for Tottenham throughout the season, but was dropped from the starting lineup in favour of Kieran Trippier towards the end of the season – including in the FA Cup semi-final.

It seems that the fate of the 27-year-old will be revealed imminently, and that Walker could be saying goodbye to the club that he’s spent the last eight years playing for.

If the defender makes the move to Pep Guardiola’s side then he will be joining new signings Bernardo Silva from Monaco and Benefica goalkeeper Ederson.
