Tottenham have sealed a kit deal with US sportswear giants Nike, it was announced on Friday.

Spurs revealed on their official Twitter account early on Friday afternoon that Nike will provide their kit from the start of the 2017-18 season.

Tottenham did not divulge the terms of the deal other than to state it was a “multi-year agreement”.

Football site ESPN FC, have reported that the kit deal will run over five years and is worth £150million, three times the old agreement, comfortably a record for the club and on a par with Arsenal’s £30million-a-year contract with Puma.

The previous five-year deal with Under Armour, worth £10million a year, expires at the end of the month.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy hailed the new deal with Nike as he expressed his delight at partnering with “one of the world’s leading brands”.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal kit agreements pale in comparison with those of Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Premier League leaders have a 15-year contract with Nike that is worth £60million annually, which is still some way short of United’s world record deal worth £75million-a-year with Adidas.

Tottenham’s expected new partnership with Nike will increase speculation that the company could have a say in a naming-rights deal for the club’s new stadium.

Spurs are set to move into their new ground, which will be adjacent to White Hart Lane, at the start of the 2018-19 season.

Tottenham’s new kit agreement will help pay towards the costs of the new stadium and free up some cash as the club prepare to spend next season at their temporary home of Wembley.

The Londoners have not yet made any new signings this summer, with a report by Sky Sports claiming they are concentrating all their efforts on signing a 23-year-old from one of their bitter rivals.
