Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli are two of the top three most valuable players in the world, according to a new study conducted by CIES Football Observatory.

The research team used algorithms studying the players’ age, contract status, position, international appearances and marketability as well as their own and their clubs’ performances, to gauge their estimated transfer value.

The study showed that 25-year-old Barcelona and Brazil forward Neymar was ranked as the most valuable player at £186.3million (€210.7million), followed by Tottenham and England stars Dele Alli and Harry Kane in second and third respectively.

CIES estimate that Alli’s transfer value is £137million (€155.1million) while Kane sits just behind him on £135.7million (€153.6million), ahead of Neymar’s Barcelona team mate Lionel Messi.

Both Alli and Kane enjoyed a remarkable 2016/17 season, the midfielder notching up 18 goals and nine assists in the Premier League, while the striker led the top flight scoring charts with 29 goals, contributing a further seven assists.

The duo are just two of nine Tottenham players named on the 110 man list, with Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son, Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen and Kyle Walker joining their team mates.

Manchester City and Chelsea both have seven players each on the list, while Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal have half the number of Spurs with four.

Other Premier League highlights include Manchester United’s Paul Pogba in seventh place, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku in 13th and heavily pursued Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk in 85th, valued at £41.2million (€46.6million).
