Former Liverpool ace Stan Collymore has revealed he is “worried” about Eric Dier playing in midfield for England due to his lack of mobility and dynamsim.

Collymore’s comments came after the Three Lions 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw with Scotland at Hampden Park on Saturday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for England in the 70th minute, before a brace of superb free kicks from Leigh Griffiths handed the hosts the lead with just minutes remaining.

But it was not to be for the Tartan army as Harry Kane netted an equaliser deep into injury time as he volleyed home from Raheem Sterling’s cross.

The result means England lose ground at the top of Group F, while Scotland remain in fourth-place, six points off the top spot.

Kane’s Tottenham teammate Dier played the full 90 minutes for his nation, but Collymore was not impressed with his performance.

Collymore wrote a message about Dier’s performance on his personal Twitter account.

“Still worried about Dier’s lack of dynamism as our primary defensive midfielder when players run at him and off him,” he said.

Dier has now been capped by England 18 times, having made his debut in the 2-0 friendly defeat to Spain in November of 2015.

The 23-year-old utility man was a mainstay in Tottenham’s team last term, making 48 appearances in all competitions.

He was used in central midfield and central defence by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino who believes him to be competent in both positions, but it appears Collymore does not share the same opinion.
