Stan Collymore believes Marcus Rashford could be forced to make a loan move away from Manchester United this summer so he can play in his natural position for England.

The 19-year-old sensation started for Gareth Southgate’s side on the right-hand side of attack as they snatched a late draw against rivals Scotland on Saturday at Hampden.

Tottenham forward Harry Kane, who struck 29 Premier League goals this term, was the player picked to start up front for the Three Lions and he scored the stoppage time equaliser.

After the match, Collymore was adamant that Rashford should not be playing out wide, but instead, he should be playing through the middle for his country.

However, he thinks, at this moment in time, the United man won’t be able to play in front of Kane, which means a loan deal away from Old Trafford would allow him to play regular football and possibly challenge Kane.

“Never want to see Rashford wide or take corners again,” Collymore wrote on his personal Twitter account. “He’s a central striker. Full stop.”

Collymore was then asked by a supporter whether he would pick Rashford over Kane to which he issued this response:

“No,” said Collymore. “Which means bench for England and maybe a loan away from United. He’s too good a striker to be getting confused by playing all over.”

Rashford recently concluded the 2016/17 season by helping Jose Mourinho win two trophies during his first season at the club.

United won the League Cup in February when they beat Southampton in controversial circumstances before they ran out comfortable winners against Ajax in the Europa League final last month.

Over the course of the season, Rashford struggled to earn regular game time under Mourinho added with the fact that he played in various positions.

Rashford started 16 league matches for United, scoring five goals and playing in a centre-forward role on only 11 occasions throughout the campaign.
