Outspoken football pundit and former striker Stan Collymore believes the forward position is where Tottenham need to strengthen this summer, while also hitting out at Vincent Janssen.

The north London club made the decision to bring in Janssen from AZ Alkmaar last year in a pricey deal worth £17million after he bagged 32 goals in 49 matches in all competitions in the 2015-16 campaign.

However, it was a debut season to forget for the 23-year-old in England and after playing 27 times in the Premier League for Tottenham, he managed to score on just two occasions.

Now, Collymore has aired on his personal Twitter account during a question and answer session on Friday that Tottenham must sign another striker this summer to backup Kane, as Janssen is not the answer for the club.

Janssen was brought to White Hart Lane with the intentions of challenging Harry Kane for the striker spot, while also providing suitable backup.

However, the Dutchman was thrust into the side as early as September after Kane suffered an ankle injury in a clash against Sunderland, ruling him out for over a month.

But, unlike Kane, Janssen failed to emulate the stunning goal record of the England international who finished the campaign with 29 Premier League goals in 30 top-flight matches.

The 13-time capped Holland international will now be hoping to make a bigger impact in his second season at the club as Spurs look to challenge for the Premier League title.
