West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are all in the running to sign Manchester United ace Chris Smalling, according to a Daily Star report.

The newspaper claims the 27-year-old centre-back will be sold by United manager Jose Mourinho this summer.

It is said West Ham, Everton and Palace are all interested in Smalling, who looks to have already been replaced at Old Trafford by Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.

If the England ace wants to continue to play in Europe a move to Everton would be best, as they secured Europa League football for next term with a seventh-place finish in last season’s Premier League.

Meanwhile, a move to West Ham or Palace would see Smalling return to the south of England, where he began his career with non-league Maidstone.

The 27-year-old failed to make much of an impact at United last term, but he did make 36 appearances in all competitions.

He arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2010 in a £6.8million switch from Fulham and he has since played 243 league and cup games for the club, and has won two Premier League titles.

During his seven-year spell in Manchester, Smalling has also been part of sides which have won the FA Cup, the Europa League and the League Cup.

The no-nonsense centre-back has been capped by England on 30 occasions, and he played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw with Scotland on Saturday.
