Newcastle United are interested in signing Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper report on the live transfer blog on their official website on Wednesday (16:39) that the newly-promoted Premier League side want to sign the 20-year-old forward on a loan deal this summer.
The report claims that the Magpies will battle it out with fellow Premier League side Burnley who are also keen on signing the winger next season.
The Mirror claims that Ojo is unlikely to enjoy much game time with the Liverpool first-team in the upcoming campaign and that he is set to be loaned out in order for him to get more experience under his belt.
The winger was part of the Under-20 England national team who won the World Cup in South Korea this summer.
Ojo featured in five out of the seven matches throughout the tournament and he produced an important assist in the semi-final match against Italy.
The young Englishman made his breakthrough into the Liverpool first-team during the 2015-16 season where he made eight league appearances and provided three assists.
Last season, he only featured in the two FA Cup matches against Plymouth Argyle and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ojo’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer of 2020.
