Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is suffering frustration in his bid to land his top summer targets before the summer transfer window shuts at the end of August.

The Telegraph claim the Portugese had been hoping that the Premier League giants would have made greater progress on providing him with the players he wants by this point of the summer.

United have signed defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica for a reported fee of £31million but there have been no other arrivals despite speculation that some vast bids have been tabled for some European stars.

Mourinho has made it clear with his public comments that he wants a squad that can challenge for the Premier League title next season.

His first campaign at the Old Trafford helm secured two trophies, the League Cup and the Europa League, which ensured that United will compete in next season’s Champions League despite finishing outside of the top four.

But the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss knows that it was underwhelming for United to finish sixth in his first season and a distant 24 points adrift of Antonio Conte’s champions.

Mourinho has admitted that he departed for his summer holidays after handing club vice-chairman Ed Woodward a list of the players he wants signed by the end of the summer.

“Ed Woodward has my list, what I want, what I would like for more than two months. So now it is up to him and the owners,” the manager explained.

Here, This Is Futbol analyses the nine players named on Mourinho’s shopping list and where the club stand on signing them, including four players in attack:
