La Liga outfit Real Sociedad are interested in signing Manchester United flop Adnan Januzaj, according to a Marca report.

The Spanish newspaper claims United want £8.5million for the 22-year-old attacker, whose contract at the club enters its final year this summer.

However, the report states that the La Liga club will attempt to lower the asking price by offering to put a sell-on clause in his contract.

It is said Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay believes a move for Januzaj “is a realistic premise”, and he is hopeful United will allow the player to leave on a permanent deal this summer.

The 22-year-old spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Sunderland, making 28 appearances in all competitions, which yielded just one goal and three assists.

He also failed to make an impact during the 2015-16 season which saw him ply his trade at Borussia Dortmund, but he only played 12 league and cup games while at the club.

The Belgian forward broke into United’s first team in the summer of 2013 with much promise, but he has disappointed since and has only made only 63 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Januzaj has been utilised in a number of positions throughout his career, which has seen him played on both wings, as an attacking midfielder and as a second striker.

He has been capped for Belgium on six occasions, but he has not featured since the 0-0 European Championships qualifying draw with Wales in November 2014.
