Manchester United fans have produced a mixed reaction on social media following the report that the club are interested in signing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his personal website that the Manchester giants had offered the La Liga champions over £50million in order to land the 24-year-old in the summer.
United only scored 54 Premier League goals last season – the lowest amount of goals scored amongst the teams who finished in the top seven.
Manager Jose Mourinho is desperately searching for a prolific striker who could fire the team to their first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson departed in 2013, and it appears that he feels that Morata is the man for the job.
Fans from the red side of Manchester took to social media to express what they thought about the proposed signing and their response was quite mixed.

Mourinho knows exactly what the Spanish striker can bring to the table as he worked with him during his spell as Real Madrid manager.
Morata was an unused substitute in Madrid’s Champions League triumph against Juventus last weekend and it is a role which he has had to endure throughout the season.
The striker only made 26 La Liga appearances for Madrid last season but he still managed to contribute with 15 goals league goals and 5 assists.
