Manchester United have won the race to sign French midfield sensation Aliou Badara Traore, according to Goal.

The French edition of the football site claim that United have staved off late interest from Juventus to land the 16-year-old, who is without a club after quitting Paris Saint-Germain.

Goal report that Traore has already signed a four-year contract with United after terms were finalised last week.

It is said that there was interest from Champions League runners-up Juventus until the last minute, while bitter rivals Manchester City were also keen on signing the teenager.

The France Under-17 international spent last season with his hometown club Sarcelles in France’s amateur league after ending his time at Paris Saint-Germain amid fears he would not get enough game time.

Traore will join up with countrymen Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba at Old Trafford but it could be some time before he plays alongside the France international duo for the first team.

Traore is set to link up next season with United’s Under-18s, who are managed by fellow Northern Irish man Kieran McKenna, the 31-year-old former Tottenham coach taking charge of the Reds’ youngsters at the start of last season.

The age-group side finished fourth in the Under-18 league in the last campaign, behind the likes of fellow Premier League giants Chelsea, Arsenal and local rivals Manchester City, with their final fixture of the season a 4-2 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers.
