Inter Milan have set a firm asking price of £48million for Ivan Perisic amid interest from Manchester United, according to an ESPN FC report.

The sports news outlet claims Inter will refuse to drop their price tag for the 28-year-old left-sided midfielder, despite the fact United only value him at £35million.

It means that this deal, which has been rumbling on for a while, looks like it’s still a way off.

It is said Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has made Perisic one of his priority summer transfer targets, and that talks were held between the clubs over the player’s valuation earlier this week.

The report states United are ready to insert performance-related add ons into the Croatian’s contract, but the Serie A giants want the money up front.

This comes after a Calciomercato report claimed Perisic had agreed terms with the Premier League giants, who offered him a £100,000-a-week deal.

The Croatian left-winger, who is also comfortable on the right, was a top performer for Inter last term, scoring 11 goals in 41 league and cup games, as well as providing 12 assists.

He joined Inter from VfL Wolfsburg for £16million in the summer of 2015, and he has since made 79 appearances in all competitions, which have yielded 20 goals and 18 assists.

Perisic has been capped by Croatia on 56 occasions, and he has scored 16 goals.
