Leeds fans have taken to social media to express their thoughts after the shock appointment of Thomas Christiansen as their new manager.
The Championship side announced that Christiansen would fill the club’s managerial vacancy on the official website on Thursday.
The Yorkshire club have been without a manager since Garry Monk’s shock resignation back in May, and fans have been eagerly awaiting to discover who would be taking over at the club’s helm.
Fans quickly took to Twitter after the appointment of Christiansen as for many Leeds supporters it was the first time they had heard the name of the 44-year-old.
He wasn’t included in any bookies’ odds, or mentioned in any reports to be Monk’s replacement.

Beattie helped make Wood into a 30-goal striker. Christiansen will make him 40+! #lufc

While Christiansen was knocking Olympiakos and Bilbao out of Europe, Monk was forfeiting the FA Cup and getting embarrassed by Sutton. #LUFC

Even if Christiansen is bang average, I love the fact no one & I mean no one saw it coming, it's like something a well run club does #lufc

Looking forward to Christiansen. @GarryMonk was fantastic but in truth couldn't adapt our system when we felt the pressure. #MOT #LUFC

While the appointment has come as a surprise, supporters have got behind the 44-year-old and are looking forward to his leadership at Elland Road.
The former Barcelona striker had a recent successful season in Cyprus where he led Apoel Nicosia to win the Cypriot First Division.
Before his move to Apoel, the Spanish international also spent two seasons managing fellow Cypriot side AEK Larnaca.
Christiansen’s appointment will make him Leeds’ sixth boss since Brian McDermott left in May 2014.
