Manchester United legend Andy Cole has claimed Marcus Rashford must be more clinical next season.

Cole, 45, was renowned for his goal scoring ability during his career, which saw him score 121 goals in 275 league and cup games for United.

Rashford, 19, struggled in front of goal last term, after bursting onto the scene in the 2015/16 season, and Cole has urged him to become more clinical and to learn off the more experienced players in the squad.

Speaking on MUTVas quoted by manutd.com, Cole said of Rashford: “He is looking more and more like a centre-forward, aiming to get more and more goals, and he has got to be more clinical but that will come with age.

“He is only a baby. He’s learned from some good players, Zlatan and Wayne Rooney, and you’ve got to learn off players like that.

“It’s about taking bits of their game and adding it to your game so, come next season, he’ll be even better for it.

“The experience is a good thing and, as a young man, all you’ve got to keep doing now is to keep your feet firmly on the floor.”

Rashford, was a mainstay of the Red Devils’ attack last term, scoring 11 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions, as well as providing six assists.

However, the 19-year-old was not effective as he was in the 2015/16 campaign which saw him bag 12 goals in 31 league and cup games.

Despite not even turning 20 until October he has already featured for the Reds in 71 league and cup games, and has helped his side win the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Europa League.

The young striker’s efforts have also been rewarded with a senior England call up, and he has been capped eight times, scoring once, on his debut against Australia in a 2-1 friendly win.
