Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle it out in the race to sign Fiorentina ace Federico Bernardeschi, according to a Tuttosport report.

The Italian media outlet claim Juventus are currently the favourites to sign the 23-year-old right-sided attacker, but Inter Milan, Chelsea and Man United are all hot on the trail.

It is said Fiorentina are keen to hang onto one of their star assets, but they would find it difficult to turn down offers of around £35million.

This comes after talkSPORT reported last month that the Blues were set to rival Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 23-year-old attacking ace who has drawn comparisons with Italian legend Roberto Baggio.

Bernardeschi was one of Fiorentina’s top performers last term, scoring 14 goals in 42 league and cup games, as well as providing five assists.

He was used by manager Stefano Pioli in a number of positions during the 2015-16 campaign, which saw him utilised as a right-winger, a left-winger and in-behind the striker.

The 23-year-old broke into the senior squad at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the summer of 2014, and he has since made 93 appearances in all competitions for the club, which have yielded 23 goals and 13 assists.

Bernardeschi has been capped by Italy on eight occasions, and he played 32 minutes in his nation’s 3-0 friendly win over Uruguay last Tuesday.
