Celtic are weighing up a sensational swoop for Manchester United playmaker Adnan Januzaj, according to the Mail.

The newspaper claim the Scottish giants are among the cubs keeping close tabs on the Belgium international after it emerged that he is no longer wanted by the Premier League giants.

The Times have claimed that United manager Jose Mourinho was to tell Januzaj that he had no future at the club and would sell him this summer for for the right price, with the cost likely to be between £10million and £15million.

The Mail state that Celtic are ready to make a move for the 22-year-old and there is also interest from Marseille and Real Sociedad.

Sky Bet have placed the Hoops at 9/4 to secure the signature of the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window, behind only favourites Sociedad.

Januzaj came to prominence during his first season at Manchester United in the club’s troubled 2013-14 campaign under David Moyes, but has failed to hit the same heights since.

The youngster had a horrific spell at Borussia Dortmund in the first half of 2015-16 and then spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Sunderland but he was unable to prevent their relegation to the Championship.

The Belgian made a total of 28 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats last season and his only goal came in the 1-0 victory against Shrewsbury Town in the second round of the EFL Cup.

It has been reported that Mourinho believes Januzaj does not have the work rate and commitment to play for the United first team and is convinced he has better options in the Belgian favourite No10 role.
