Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj will be informed next week that he is no longer required at Manchester United, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that the 22-year-old had hoped that he would get another opportunity to impress manager Jose Mourinho next season but the Portuguese does not see a future for Januzaj at Old Trafford.

Januzaj is in the final year of his contract with United and Mourinho is looking to get between  £10 million and £15 million for the player.

The Times reports that Ligue 1 sides Marseille and Lyon are the clubs most interested in signing Januzaj in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian spent the 2016-17 campaign on a season-long loan at Sunderland under former manager David Moyes.

Januzaj made a total of 25 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats this season and, despite providing three assists, failed to score a single league goal.

His presence at the club could not prevent Sunderland from being relegated from the Premier League for the first time since 2006.

The Belgian broke onto the scene at Old Trafford during the 2013-2014 season where he scored a brace on his Premier League debut against Sunderland.

Since then, Januzaj has only made 18 Premier League starts with Manchester United as managers Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have not been convinced by the youngster’s progress.

Now it looks like his career at Old Trafford is set to come to an end.
