Manchester City have put Alexis Sanchez at the top of their summer transfer wish list, and are willing to offer £50m for the striker, according to a report from the Manchester Evening News.
Man City have been linked with the Arsenal forward for some time now, and the MEN have revealed that Alexis Sanchez is still a top priority for City.
It is claimed that Pep Guardiola is set to continue his £300m summer transfer spend, and it appears he’s willing to offer a large sum of that budget for the Chilean star.
It is said that Sanchez has also had links with Bayern Munich after stalling over a new contract.
The Arsenal striker is contracted until the summer of 2018 – however if he refuses to sign a new contract this summer it is likely that Wenger will look to sell the 28-year-old rather than lose him on a free.
Sanchez, alongside team-mate Mesut Ozil, has stalled over their new contract offers.
The Mirror has claimed that the Gunners are set to offer Sanchez a new contract with an extension to 2020, which will cost the club in excess of £275,000-a-week to ensure he remains.
After boss Arsene Wenger revealed earlier in the week that he would stay at the Emirates for a further two years, the fate of the two stars could be revealed soon.
Although Sanchez is Guardiola’s focus, the MEN also claim that the City boss hasn’t ruled out a move for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
Guardiola has a number of other names on his radar, including Mbappe’s teammate Benjamin Wendy, Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, and Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, who has also sparked interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
