Manchester City are in talks with Juventus over a possible summer move for Dani Alves, according to a reliable journalist.

Sky Sports correspondent Fabrizio Romano states City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign the player, but no agreement has been reached with Juventus as of yet.

Romano made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Saturday night.

This comes after the Sun reported in February that Guardiola was keen on a reunion with the Brazilian, who he worked with at Barcelona.

It was said the 34-year-old right-back could be in line for a move to City, but only if he lowers his astronomical wage demands.

Meanwhile, on Saturday leading bookmaker Sky Bet priced Chelsea at 4/1 favourites to sign the Brazil international.

Alves’ attributes would make him a perfect wing-back option for Chelsea’s 3-4-3 system, but he may prefer a transfer to the Etihad to reunite with his former boss.

The 34-year-old joined Juventus last summer on a free from Barcelona, and he was a mainstay of their back line in the 2016-17 season, playing 33 league and cup games.

The pacey full-back was also somewhat of a attacking threat last term, as his 33 appearances yielded six goals and seven assists.

Alves spent eight years at Barcelona making 391 appearances in all competitions, and was a part of six La Liga winning sides and he also won three Champions League titles.
