Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not want to make sweeping personnel changes this summer but is keen to add top-quality signings before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.

The Liverpool Echo claim the German has prioritised proven performers capable of making an immediate impact at Anfield rather than youngsters with untapped potential.

Klopp’s first campaign at Anfield was hugely promising but a strong start petered out as injuries bit and only a solid finish to the campaign secured a top-four Premier League spot and a place in next season’s Champions League qualification stages.

Liverpool have already been busy in the summer market, signing young forward Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and about to add another in the shape of Mohamed Salah from Roma.

The Eqyptian winger is set to undergo a medical on Thursday before finalising a transfer that will set a new Liverpool record of £39million, made of £35million plus £4million of add-ons.

A further four signings are said to be in the pipeline and This Is Futbol analyses the potential incomings, including another wide forward who is available at a bargain price and is proven in the Premier League:
