Liverpool are preparing to make a second attempt to sign Hull full-back Josh Tymon, according to ESPN FC.

The football site cite sources close to the KCOM Stadium as saying that the Merseyside giants are facing competition from Premier League rivals Stoke and Watford for the teenage sensation.

ESPN also report that Aston Villa are also in the race to sign Tymon, 18.

The Sun claimed last year that Liverpool were looking to sign Tymon in the January transfer window, but a move failed to materialise and now they are linked once again with a player who is said to have impressed Jurgen Klopp and his staff.

ESPN reports that Hull are “facing a battle to keep hold of” Tymon following their relegation from the Premier League and they are vulnerable to interest as he is yet to agree a professional contract on Humberside, despite playing a part in the Tigers’ first-team in the recently completed season.

The left-back made 12 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal, which came in a 2-0 FA Cup victory over Swansea in January.

He is mainly deployed as a left-back but can also play on the left wing and has the capabilities of a player that can play in a more central role.

Coincidentally, Liverpool have also been strongly linked with a move for Hull’s senior left-back Andrew Robertson, who represented Scotland in their 2-2 draw against England last Saturday.
