Everton are still waiting to complete the signing of Malaga attacker Sandro Ramirez, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claim that the sticking point is that the La Liga outfit have yet to sign release forms that can give the 21-year-old goalscorer the green light to complete his move to Goodison Park.

Talks between the two clubs have been at an advanced stage over the past fortnight, and several reports have suggested that a deal has already been completed, and was just awaiting official confirmation.

The Liverpool Echo had earlier claimed that Sandro was set to be officially unveiled by the Premier League club on Thursday, after Everton agreed to meet his £5.2million buyout clause.

However, the latest report from the Mirror claims that Malaga are waiting until July 3 before ratifying the transfer, with personal terms and a medical already completed.

Ramirez scored 16 goals and supplied five assists from 31 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side last season, and has been identified as a candidate to hand Everton more firepower next term.

Ronald Koeman has been looking to splash the cash on quality reinforcements for his first-team squad this summer, and a new goalscorer has been made a high priority.

Romelu Lukaku was undoubtedly the standout performer at the Merseyside club during the 2016-17 season with 26 goals, but no other player scored more than 10 goals, which is a concern for the Everton chief.

But as soon as Malaga ratify the transfer next week, the former Barcelona youngster can be officially confirmed as the club’s third signing of the summer, after Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen.
