Everton have held preliminary discussions with Burnley over a deal to bring striker Andre Gray to Goodison Park next season, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper claims that the Everton manager Ronald Koeman is a huge admirer of the 25-year-old and it is understood that Burnley are willing to listen to offers for the striker this summer.

The report claims that the Merseyside club will need to spend £10million in order to acquire the services of the forward.

The report claims that Koeman and the club’s director of football Steve Walsh are planning on signing players in the forward position and they both believe that Gray is the perfect man for the job.

This follows up from the story in the Burnley Express which reported that the Toffees were planning on stepping up their interest for the striker.

The Burnley man is not the only striker who the Merseyside club are looking to sign this summer as the Liverpool Echo recently reported that Malaga forward Sandro will complete a move to the club next week.

Gray produced some impressive displays in his debut campaign in the Premier League, contributing nine goals and three assists.

The striker’s current contract at Turf Moor expires at the end of next season.
