Betting update: Arsenal odds on favourites to secure Pickford signing

|

Arsenal have been installed odds-on favourites to capture the signing of Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer.

Sky Bet have priced the 23-year-old at 15/8 to join Arsene Wenger’s side, setting them as firm favourites ahead of a number of rivals.

It also means the North London side have leapfrogged former favourites Everton, with the betting agency offering odds of 7/2 on the Merseyside club – the same odds offered for him to remain at Sunderland.

This is a significant change of odds from last month, when the Toffees were named by Sky Bet at 4/11 to sign the Sunderland stalwart.

Behind the two leaders, the betting agency name Manchester United (5/1), Chelsea (8/1) and Liverpool (12/1) ahead of a host of Premier League sides.

Pickford has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light this summer following the Black Cats’ relegation.

However any club wanting to secure his signature may have to demonstrate some patience, with the goalkeeper asserting in the Express that his focus will be on the forthcoming U21 European Championships and not a potential transfer.

Arsenal will be in the market for a new goalkeeper this season, with a number of departures expected during the summer transfer window.

His understudy, David Ospina, looks set to leave the club for Fenerbahce, as according to Fanatik, while Wojciech Szcz?sny will end his time at the club by joining Italian champions Juventus, say Sky Sports News.
