AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko will travel to London this weekend as Premier League champions Chelsea look set to complete the signing of him for around £35million, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reports that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the 23-year-old and he believes that Bakayoko could form a sensational partnership in the midfield with fellow Frenchman N’Golo Kante next season.

French newspaper L’Equipe also claim that both Monaco and Chelsea are close to agreeing a fee for the midfield enforcer which is reported to be around £35million.

The Mail claims that the player’s representatives have been in talks with Chelsea for a number of weeks and the player himself is adamant that he wants to play for the West London club.

The report claims that a number of big European teams have been interested in securing the Frenchman’s signature this summer but it appears that Chelsea have won the race.

It is reported that Conte wants to add more bodies to his squad as Chelsea will be competing in the Champions League next season.

Bakayoko played a crucial role in helping Monaco left the Ligue 1 title for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign.

The France international made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

It is no surprise that Chelsea are going to splash the cash for the midfielder as his contract with Monaco expires in 2019.
