Arsenal make an offer for James Rodriguez

FA Cup winners Arsenal have made an offer to sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, according to Jugones.

The Spanish sports television program announced that the La Liga champions rejected a bid from the North London side for the 25-year-old Colombian.

The news was announced through their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon with the headline “The top clubs want James. Bayern, Inter and Arsenal.”

It is reported that the Champions League winners are looking to sell Rodriguez for a fee around £70million and Arsenal’s offer was well below this value.

Premier League rivals Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in the Colombia international over the last couple of days.

The report also claims that Serie A side Inter Milan are the only other club to officially make an offer for the Colombian.

It also claims that Rodriguez is waiting for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to make contact with Madrid as he would prefer a reunion with his former manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Rodriguez looks to be on his way out of the Bernabeu this summer as he was left out of the squad for the Champions League final against Juventus last weekend.

The midfielder only made 22 La Liga appearances last season but he still managed to score eight league goals and provide six assists.

The Colombian’s contract with Madrid runs out in 2020.
