Arsenal have seen bids for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar rejected, according to Sky Sports sources.

The report claims that the two French players are the main summer targets for the Gunners but they have reportedly failed with their attempts to sign the duo ahead of the upcoming campaign.

It is understood that the North London club offered Monaco around £30million for Lemar but the Ligue 1 champions did not deem this to be a sufficient amount of money.

The offer presented to Lyon for striker Lacazette is unavailable at this current moment in time.

This follows up from the Telegraph which reported that Arsenal had tabled bids totalling £85million for the French attacking duo.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of top players this summer but they have only managed to complete the complete the signing of full-back Sead Kolansinac from Bundesliga side Schalke on a free transfer.

Lemar enjoyed a sensational second campaign with Monaco as he helped them clinch their first league title since the 1999-2000 season.

The winger contributed with 14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions last season.

Lacazette also excelled in France last season, scoring a total of 37 goals in 45 matches.

Lemar’s current contract with Monaco runs out in 2020 whereas Lacazaette’s contract at Lyon expires in 2019.
