Emil Forsberg’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya has hinted his client could leave RB Leipzig this summer to test himself at one of the big European teams.

That will alert Arsenal, who the report names as one of the teams interested in his signature this summer.

The Metro newspaper had previously claimed Arsenal were interested in signing the 25-year-old in the upcoming transfer window as manager Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options.

Despite no sign of a bid from the Gunners yet, Cetinkaya has intensified speculation by making a comment on his client’s future.

Speaking to Swedish media outlet Aftonbladet, he said: “I will not comment on the clubs involved. There are big clubs who are very interested in Emil.

“He has made history in Germany. Of course, you know RB want to keep Emil, you need to constantly make sure to make Emil satisfied.

“He has paid back the club ten-fold. Maybe it’s time to test himself at a big club.”

Forsberg helped Leipzig to a second-place finish in this season’s Bundesliga by scoring eight goals in 30 league appearances.

The 25-year-old joined the club from Swedish outfit Malmo in the summer of 2014, and he has since made 92 league appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals.

He has also been capped by Sweden 25 times, scoring five goals, making his international debut in a 2016 European Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein in October 2014.

Forsberg is under contract to RB Leipzig for a further five years but with this season’s success and interest from elsewhere he may be tempted to make a move.

Wenger is looking to strengthen his squad this summer after a disappointing season saw his side’s finish fifth in the Premier League, but they did secure their third FA Cup win in four seasons last Saturday by beating league champions Chelsea 2-1.
