Arsenal are demanding a large fee of £20million from Juventus for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, according to a report in The Sun.

The newspaper have revealed that following keeper Jordan Pickford’s move to Everton from Sunderland last week for a staggering £30 million, boss Arsene Wenger has upped the asking price.

The Sun report that the north London club were originally willing to sell the Poland international for £13 million.

It was reported that Arsenal have already rejected a “cheeky” bid of £4million from Juventus for the 27-year-old.

Szczesny joined the north London club over 10 years ago, in 2006, and has just one year remaining on his current contract.

Despite having the number one jersey, the Polish keeper ended up on loan at AS Roma in 2015, and has since spent two seasons with the Italian club.

During his time with the Serie A outfit the Pole has impressed and made a total of 81 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The 27-year-old’s loan spell comes to a close at the end of June, and the keeper will then return to face competition from Petr Cech and David Ospina at the Emirates.

Szczesny’s last Premier League game for the club was against Southampton back at the beginning of January in 2015.

The goalkeeper will return to take part in pre-season training with the Gunners next month, but it’s reported that the former Legia Warsaw player would prefer a move.

The Sun claim that Arsene Wenger is in no rush to sell and is happy to keep the goalkeeper on the books if his price tag can’t be met.
