West Ham United and Serie A giants AC Milan are the joint favourites to land Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the latest bookmaker odds.
This follows up from a report in the Mirror which claimed that the East London side were keeping a close eye on the 25 year-old’s contract situation at the Emirates Stadium.
Sky Bet have priced both clubs at 5/1 to secure the signature of the Gunners talisman and academy product before the summer transfer window shuts.
Both teams are currently ahead of a host of clubs around Europe who are also keen on signing Wilshere this summer, with Manchester City placed at 7/1, Bournemouth at 8/1 and Serie A outfit Roma at 16/1.
The Hammers seriously lacked some authority in the midfield last season and it would not be a surprise if manager Slaven Bilic looks to strength this area in the summer.
Milan had to endure another campaign where they failed to mount a serious challenge for the Serie A title as they finished in sixth position last season.
However, the Italian giants have new owners who are willing to splash the cash in order to secure a first league title since 2011.
Wilshere spent last campaign with Premier League side Bournemouth on a season long loan spell, making 29 Premier League appearances but his season was cut short once again as he suffered a broken leg towards the end of the season.
