West Ham are keeping close tabs on Jack Wilshere’s situation at Arsenal, according to a report in the Daily Mirror

Chief football writer John Cross reports that the 25-year-old midfielder is unsure about his future at Arsenal and the East London club are following his situation very closely as they are interested in a potential deal.

Cross also claims that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge Jack Wilshere fan and he’s also keeping an eye on his developments at the Emirates Stadium.

Wilshere spent the 2016-17 Premier League campaign at Bournemouth on a season-long loan where he enjoyed plenty of minutes on the pitch, making 29 league appearances and providing two assists.

It is the highest amount of Premier League games he has played in a single season since the 2010-11 campaign where he made a total of 35 appearances for the Gunners.

Once again, the midfielder was unable to complete the season as he suffered a broken leg in Bournemouth’s 4-0 defeat against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in April.

The English midfielder only has a year left on his Arsenal contract but with midfielders such as Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey performing so well at the end of the campaign, Wilshere might not be a first-team regular at the Emirates Stadium next season.

It is said that the player hasn’t opened talks on a new contract yet and that Arsenal could offer him an extension just to safeguard his value.
