Thomas Christiansen should abandon plans to sign Norwich midfielder and Elland Road favourite Jonny Howson after being quoted a huge figure of £5million to bring him back to Leeds.
The Mirror claim Leeds would have to fork out the huge sum on the former Yorkshire giants’ youth player, despite being willing to listen to offers after the 29-year-old rejected a new deal at Carrow Road.
Norwich do not want to see the midfielder leave on the cheap this season, especially to a rival Championship club with both sides looking to mould a squad capable of achieving Premier League promotion.
Starting his career at Elland Road and coming the youth academy at Thorp Arch, Howson came through the ranks as a striker before reverting to a holding midfielder and captaining Leeds before moving to the Canaries.
However, This Is Futbol believes Howson is not worth the £5million fee and three other Championship midfielders would prove more suitable options if Leeds had that sort of cash to spend.
