Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus has seemingly been critical of Joe Garner after Rangers sold him to Ipswich.

The 29-year-old joined the Championship side on Friday after the Gers announced on their official website that he has signed a three-year contract with the Tractor Boys.

McManus wasn’t shy to state on his personal Twitter account that Rangers selling Garner will be the “best bit of business” they will do all summer.

Pedro Caixinha, who replaced Mark Warburton in the dugout in March, has been very busy during the summer transfer window so far.

He has signed four players ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign, with Euro 2016 winner Bruno Alves being the standout purchase.

Nonetheless, Garner moved to Ibrox from Championship side Preston North End last summer, but the Englishmen struggled to perform for the Scottish giants.

He played 37 matches in all competitions, scoring ten goals for the club and he only managed to find the back of the net on seven occasions from his 31 league games

Added to that, Garner picked up more yellow cards (11) throughout the season then he did score goals as he will be looking to get his career back on track in the Championship.

He already has experience of playing in the second tier of English football where he has made 133 appearances for the likes of Preston, Nottingham Forest and Watford.
