Leeds United will wait to appoint their new manager before making any more forays in the summer transfer market, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper claim there will be no further additions to the permanent signing of Hadi Sacko until a replacement is found for Garry Monk.

The Yorkshire Evening Post gave some insight into United’s transfer plans as the club continue to search for a new manager two weeks after Monk tendered his resignation.

“United have one transfer in the bag already but new additions will wait until a head coach is on board,” the report read.

New sole owner Andrea Radrizzani revealed on Tuesday that Leeds were set to begin interviewing manager candidates this week as he insisted the club would focus on finding the right man for the vacant post.

This could mean that new signings are on hold for some time, as there is little sense that the Championship giants are close to appointing a successor to Monk.

However, Leeds appointed a new director of football last week when Spaniard Victor Orta took charge of the club’s transfer dealings and the Yorkshire Evening Post claim he could be joined at the club by Sevilla scout Dani Salas.

Leeds, who finished seventh in the recent Championship campaign, have made only one signing to date when they converted Sacko’s 2016-17 loan from Sporting Lisbon into a permanent deal.

Radrizzani laid out his recruitment plans by saying the accent would be on youth and potential signings who have their best years ahead of them.

“It will be a rational approach. I’ve seen many cases of new owners coming in, injecting money quickly and without a plan or a project,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. “They went bust pretty soon and in the Championship you see a lot of turnover of owners.

“That’s the last thing I wish for. I wish to give continuity here so I need to be stable and plan rational investment. That means investing in players at the right age to develop, not in an old player who comes here with no desire, big wages and in a few years we are bankrupt. We need to be under control.”
