Jordan Amavi has revealed that Aston Villa have put him on the transfer list – and fans on Twitter have agreed with the club’s decision.
The 23-year-old mainstay, who featured regularly for the Midlands outfit during the recently concluded Championship campaign, confirmed that he could be heading for the exit door this summer.
Left-back Amavi was clear that there will be no hard feelings if he does end up leaving but he did state what ambitions he has for his future.
“We spoke with Aston Villa, I was upfront with them, the club were in return,” said Amavi, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
“If I have to leave, there will be no problem. I have ambitions. I want to play in Europe, for a club that plays in all the competitions. I’ve been placed on the transfer list.”
Villa supporters were not surprised to see Villa putting Amavi up for sale as they stated that they would be happy to see him leave for a reasonable transfer fee.
Many fans pointed towards Amavi’s defensive flaws from his inability to defend and position himself in the correct area on the field of play.
During the January transfer window, Steve Bruce opted to bring in Neil Taylor from Premier League side Swansea and one supporter felt his failure to take the shirt from the Welshmen means he now has to leave.
The attacking full-back, who joined the club from Ligue One outfit Nice during the summer of 2015 when Villa were a Premier League side, suffered a season-ending knee injury four months into his arrival.
One supporter stated that since Amavi’s return from injury, he has been disappointed with his performances and now it is time for him to say goodbye.

Complete forgot about Cissokho, so if Amavi goes for £10m+ I'm not that fussed #avfc

If we get decent money for Amavi it's a win win. Decent left winger but a very average defender from what I've seen #AVFC

Amavi has to leave. Has never shown he could take the shirt from Taylor. Only bit of quality from him has been his haircuts. #avfc
