Jordan Amavi has revealed that Aston Villa have placed him on the transfer list and he has ambitions of playing in Europe.

The 23-year-old recently ended a disappointing campaign with Villa, who finished in the bottom half of the Championship table during the recently concluded campaign.

At the start of the term, Amavi was playing second fiddle to Aly Cissokho but the arrival of Steve Bruce in October resulted in Amavi winning his place back in the starting XI.

However, after a number of poor performances from the Frenchman, Bruce opted to sign Wales international Neil Taylor from Swansea during the January transfer window.

Now, Amavi has dropped a big bombshell that he no longer is wanted by the Midlands outfit and it is likely that he will be heading for the exit door this summer.

“We spoke with Aston Villa, I was upfront with them, the club were in return,” said Amavi, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

“If I have to leave, there will be no problem. I have ambitions. I want to play in Europe, for a club that plays in all the competitions. I’ve been placed on the transfer list.”

Left-back Amavi moved to Villa Park from French side Nice during the summer of 2015 but he suffered a season-ending injury within four months of his arrival.

Whilst Amavi was on the sidelines, Villa ended up suffering relegation to the second tier of English football and they have since failed to make a return to the top tier.

Now, he will be heading for the exit door after two seasons at the club and representing Villa on 48 occasions in all competitions.
