Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that he is hoping to have a very successful spell at West Ham.

The 32-year-old was announced as the Hammers’ first summer signing Friday after as his contract at Manchester City approaches an end.

He will officially join West Ham on 1 July on a two-year deal and is already telling the supporters what he hopes to do during his time at the London Stadium.

“Thank you so, so much, it is an absolute pleasure to be part of West Ham Football Club,” said Zabaleta in a video on the Hammers’ official Twitter account.

“I hope I can give good moments.

“Of course I come into the club to enjoy myself and hopefully we can have a very successful time.”

Zabaleta won two Premier League titles during his spell at Manchester City, which saw him make 333 appearances and score 11 goals across all competitions.

He struggled for game time in the recently ended campaign during Pep Guardiola’s first year at the Etihad.

The 58-times Argentina international will surely become a welcomed addition to Slaven Bilic’s squad, which has struggled with injuries this term, especially at right-back.

Sam Byram and Alvaro Arbeloa have both spent more than their fair share of time in the books of the club physio meaning that Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio have both been forced to play out of position on the right side of defence.

Zabaleta joined Man City from La Liga outfit Espanyol in 2008 – the day before ultra-rich owner Sheikh Mansour took control of the club.
