Everton youngster Nathan Broadhead has agreed a new deal at Goodison Park, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

The Toffees confirmed on their official website that the 19-year-old attacker has signed a new three-year contract with the merseyside club until the end of June 2020.

The winger, who can also be deployed centrally, has committed his long-term future to the Premier League giants after impressing in their youth system.

Broadhead has risen through the Everton academy and played an important role in the club’s title-winning Under-23s side this season.

The Wales Under-19 international has had the opportunity to play in David Unsworth’s highly rated side and has claimed he wants to cement his role in the starting XI next season following the signing of a new deal.

“I’m very pleased,” Broadhead said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “I’ve been an Evertonian all of my life and it feels like the perfect place to be for me. I’m just glad it’s all done and I’m looking forward to next season now.

“I managed to get into the team more towards the end of the season and to help the team win the Premier League 2 title was something I will never forget. To lift the trophy at Goodison in front of so many fans was an unbelievable feeling.”

He added: “Next season I want to cement my place in that team, hopefully get more game time and more goals and assists.”

Everton have a great reputation of bringing through youth players to their senior set-up and currently have a talented crop of youngsters at their disposal.

Senior manager Ronald Koeman has showed his intent to stick with the club’s philosophy during his first year in charge and Broadhead will hope that he can be a future breakout star in the first team.

Toffees midfielder Tom Davies has been a glowing example this year for all aspiring youngster as the 18-year-old has become a mainstay in the first team starting XI.

The Englishman is being tipped to be a star for the national side and has made a seamless transition from the youth side.
