Multiple clubs are said to be tracking Aston Villa playmaker Carles Gil this summer following his loan spell with Deportivo La Coruna, according to Spanish outlet La Voz De Galicia.

The 24-year-old’s future is currently up in the air after spending the entire season on loan in Spain, with Steve Bruce set to reshuffle his pack ahead of a Championship promotion push next season.

It remains to be seen if a permanent deal for the pocket-sized attacker will materialise at Deportivo, with the report stating that many other clubs are willing to pay for Gil’s services.

The fleet-footed midfielder joined the La Liga outfit last summer after Villa suffered relegation to the second tier of English football.

Gil, who can play as a number 10 or on the right flank, made 24 appearances for his loan side this season, scoring once as well as setting up his teammates four times in assists.

Bruce has a number of players set to report back to the Midlands after completing loans, with Jordan Veretout, Carlos Sanchez and Pierluigi Gollini all set for an interesting transfer window after temporary deals.

Gil, a one-time Spain Under-21 international, has two years still to run on his current deal with Bruce’s Midlands giants but could now leave with clubs ready to pounce.

Since his £3.5million to Villa Park in the summer of 2015, Gil has made just 34 appearances in claret and blue.
