Kyle Walker wants to quit Tottenham in the forthcoming summer transfer window, according to a report.
The Evening Standard claim the first-team mainstay, 26, has delivered the bombshell news to White Hart Lane chiefs he wants to leave.
Walker has reportedly stopped short of handing in a transfer request but has made his intentions clear that he does not want to be at Spurs next season.
This comes amid widespread reports that Manchester City are preparing a mammoth summer bid for the Sheffield United academy graduate.
Walker signed a new five-year contract last September, which reports have variously calculated to be worth between £55,000-a-week and £70,000-a-week, and which ties him to Tottenham until 2021.
This means that City or any other suitor would have to pay big money to prise the England international from Tottenham.
Walker is one of the longest-serving members of the Tottenham team after joining from United in the summer of 2009 for £5million.
Following successful loan spells at Aston Villa, QPR and back at United, Walker has established himself as Spurs and England’s first choice right-back.
He has made 37 appearances for Tottenham this season and was named last month in the PFA Premier League team of the season voted by his fellow professionals.
