Tottenham are preparing a fresh move for Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, according to a report.

The Sun claim that Spurs are hoping to beat Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City to the 17-year-old defender that has taken the Championship by storm this season.

It is understood that the north London club moved for him at the beginning of the campaign and are now ready to offer £12million to secure his services.

The report details that chairman Daniel Levy wants to move quickly and wrap up a deal for Sessegnon, who has been dubbed the new Gareth Bale.

It is believed that Levy is wary of Liverpool’s interest in the full-back and fears missing out on his signing.

Sessegnon is fast becoming one of the most exciting youngsters in English football and he has enjoyed a breakout season at Craven Cottage.

The teenager was included in the PFA Championship team of the year after his stellar performances, which have been shocking given his age.

He has been an important player for Fulham this year and made 30 senior appearances across all competitions, but suffered heartache in the play-off semi-finals.

Sessegnon is a left-back by trade and has also been used as a left winger due to his offensive qualities.

The England Under-19 international has scored seven goals and supplied four assists, which have caused him to be noticed by the Premier League’s elite clubs.

Spurs may be in need of a new left-back if Danny Rose leaves the club in the summer and Sessegnon could end up compete alongside Ben Davies for the left-back role.
