Vincent Janssen was left on the bench for Tottenham against Hull on Sunday – and the club’s supporters were disappointed with the decision on Twitter.

Spurs travel to Hull for the final day of the Premier League season and know they are guaranteed a second-placed finish regardless of the result, but Harry Kane will be chasing his own personal glory in the golden boot race.

The north London club have made two changes to their side as Christian Eriksen and Kieran Trippier come into the starting XI, while Moussa Sissoko and Mousa Dembele drop to the bench.

Janssen has endured a frustrating first season in English football and been resigned to the bench under Mauricio Pochettino.

The 22-year-old striker completed a £17million switch from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar last summer, but has managed just six goals across all competitions for Spurs.

Spurs fans were disappointed that the Holland international was not given the chance to start against Hull, despite their being very little resting on the match.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Janssen was recruited to help ease the workload from talisman Kane, but has been unable to force his way into the line-up.

The striker has made 39 appearances across all competitions and Pochettino has mainly used him as an impact substitute, with his physical presence certainly a strong element of his game.

Spurs fans have continued to show their support for their misfiring attacker throughout the season and are desperate for him to achieve success.

However, their are concerns from some of them that Janssen could be shipped on in the summer as the club look to establish themselves as an elite side.
