Young attacker Patrick Roberts has told that he “wants to play every week and enjoy playing football” after his loan deal at Celtic came to an end on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old attacker has been a part of the Glasgow giants’ team after moving from Manchester City in an 18-month loan deal in January 2016.

He has gone on to become a key player for the club and he played out 90 minutes of the Hoops’ 2-1 Scottish Cup final win against Aberdeen on Saturday before being brought off in stoppage time for defender Erik Sviatchenko.

Now, Roberts has told that he will return to Manchester City and see where it goes, but he also stated that he wants to play regularly, which he may find difficult for Pep Guardiola’s team.

“I don’t know, we’ll see what happens. I’ll have a break and then go back to Man City and then we’ll see where it goes from there,” told Roberts, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“I just want to enjoy my football. I want to play every week and enjoy playing football, like I did when I was a kid. If I can do that I will be happy.”

Roberts starred in 60 matches in total for Celtic during his loan move, scoring 17 while returning 21 himself.

He helped the club lift two Premiership titles, one League Cup and one Scottish Cup during his time at the Glasgow giants and he will now go back to Manchester City a much more experienced player following his initial move to Manchester from Fulham in the summer of 2015 for a £12million fee.
