Harry Redknapp has claimed that Tottenham’s Champions League victory over Inter Milan in 2010 is his favourite every memory at White Hart Lane.

The former Spurs manager was in charge on that night as they produced a stunning display to beat Inter 3-1 in a Champions League group game.

Gareth Bale is fondly remembered for producing a spectacular performance on the left flank as he terrorised the opposition’s full-back Maicon all game.

He was unable to score in the European tie, but inspired his side to victory and kicked on to become a world star shortly after.

Spurs’ victory had been made even sweeter by the fact that they had lost to Inter 4-3 at the San Siro in the previous group meeting, despite a superb Bale hat-trick in that match.

Redknapp has recalled the memorable Champions League success at White Hart Lane and all the Spurs greats are beginning to look back at their highlights at the prestigious ground.

“The standout night at White Hart Lane for me as a former Tottenham manager was beating Inter Milan in the 2010-11 Champions League group stage,” Redknapp wrote in the Evening Standard. “I swear I could hear ‘Taxi for Maicon!” ringing in my ears for a day or two afterwards.

“Inter were European champions at the time and they had beaten us in the San Siro but the stadium was rocking and the players fed off it from the first whistle. Gareth Bale ran them to death all night long and they just had no answer for it.”

Spurs will play their final game at White Hart Lane on Sunday as they host Manchester United in the Premier League.

The north London club are unbeaten their in the league this season and it would be a fitting tribute to bow end undefeated in their final campaign.

They look set to finish the season in second as leaders Chelsea are on the brink of the title, but Mauricio Pochettino’s current side are believed to be one of the best Spurs teams in recent years.
