West Ham braced as Brighton eye £8m-rated Snodgrass

Premier League new boys Brighton are looking to test West Ham’s resolve by tabling an £8million offer for Robert Snodgrass, according to independent website West Ham World.

The report claims Seagulls boss Chris Hughton wants to add proven Premier League experience to his side and has identified 29-year-old Snodgrass as the man to do just that.

This comes just four months after West Ham opted to bring the former Hull City attacker to the London Stadium for £10million, following the sale of playmaker Dimitri Payet to Marseille.

Snodgrass arrived at West Ham after a sensational first half to the season with Hull, having a hand in 13 goals during 24 league and cup encounters with nine of those scored by the former Leeds attacker.

But his move to east London failed to prove as prolific as he has failed to find the back of the net in claret and blue, laying on only two assists in 15 appearances and struggling to nail down a regular starting spot.

Now, Snodgrass could jump ship instead of fighting for his place under manager Slaven Bilic less than half a year after moving to Stratford with Brighton ready to profit.

Hughton’s side are yet to make their first signing of the summer following their promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, but Snodgrass could change that by putting pen to paper at the Amex Stadium.

The former Norwich and Livingston star has more than three years remaining on his current deal and it remains to be seen if the Hammers would be willing to offload Snodgrass.
