Tottenham attacking duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) confirmed the shortlist on their official twitter account on Friday morning.

Both Kane and Alli were sensational for Tottenham this season and the two England international stars were pivotal in the North London club’s pursuit on the Premier League title, where they lost out to champions Chelsea.

Alli collected the PFA Young Player of the Year award earlier on this season for the second consecutive year.

The 21-year-old English midfielder made 50 appearances for Tottenham this season, scoring a total of 22 goals in all competitions and he provided eight assists in total.

Meanwhile, Kane finished the season as the Premier League Golden Boot winner with 29 goals to his name, including seven goals in his final two league matches away from home against Leicester City and Hull City respectively.

The 23-year-old scored a total of 35 goals for Tottenham in all competitions this season – it’s the second time in three seasons where the English striker has surpassed the 30-goal mark in a single campaign.

Kane and Alli were also both named in the 2017 PFA Team of the Year.

The other candidates include Chelsea players N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
