European giants Roma are favourites to sign Tottenham winger Erik Lamela, according to the latest betting odds.
Leading bookmaker Bet Victor have priced Lamela at 2/1 to make a switch back to his former club before September 3, with AC Milan (2/1) and Brazillian side River Plate (4/1) also in the running for his signature.
The 25-year-old attacker, who missed up to eight months of action this season, moved to White Hart Lane from Roma in 2013.
Lamela last represented Mauricio Pochettino’s side in October, with a hip injury keeping him on the sidelines as Spurs went on to secure another season in the Champions League.
It was a successful campaign for the north London club, who finished as runners-up to champions Chelsea, the club’s best league finish in over two decades.
Lamela’s current deal at Tottenham is due to expire in three years time and he was one of a few Spurs players who did not extend his contract over the course of the season.
During his time at the club, Lamela has played 121 matches for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and supplying 31 assists.
The Argentina international is currently recovering from his injury and he will be hoping to be a real asset for Pochettino next term.
If Lamela does stay at the club then he will have to dethrone the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min from the starting XI.
