Tottenham Hotspur fans have mocked Arsenal on Twitter after manager Arsene Wenger has agreed to sign a new two-year contract extension, according to a BBC report.

The article claims Wenger met the club’s owner Stan Kroenke on Monday to discuss his future, and their decision was passed onto the board on Tuesday afternoon.

It is said the Gunners will make an official announcement on Wednesday.

The 2016/17 season saw Arsenal finish fifth in the Premier League, outside the top four for the first time since Wenger’s arrival at the club in 1996.

However, they did secure a third FA Cup title in four seasons on Saturday, beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley.

Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey both bagged goals to secure the cup final win.

After a season of speculation surrounding Wenger’s future it looks as if it has finally been decided, and he will extend his 21-year stint in charge of the Gunners.

However, the White Hart Lane faithful were quick to mock their North London neighbours on Twitter after the reported deal – as you can see from the following tweets.

Tottenham finished second in the Premier League behind champions Chelsea, securing their highest finish in the top-flight since 1963.

This term also saw Spurs finish above Arsenal for the first time in 22 years.
