Liverpool have agreed to sign Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke after the youngster refused to sign an contract extension at Stamford Bridge, according to the Guardian.

The newspaper claims that the 19-year-old forward has agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club after being left frustrated at his lack of opportunities at Chelsea this season.

The Guardian also report that despite the player’s contract ending in the summer, Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to pay the current Premier League champions a fee of between £2million and £3million in compensation as Solanke is aged under 24.

It is said that Solanke rejected offers from Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig and Scottish champions Celtic and that he will earn £20,000-a-week at Anfield.

The young forward spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Eredivisie side Vitesse where he enjoyed an impressive campaign as he ended up being the club’s third highest goalscorer with seven goals to his name.

Despite his successful loan spell in Holland, new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte failed to give Solanke a chance with the first team this season with the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard performing extremely well for the club.

Solanke has only made one competitive appearance with the Chelsea first team and it came in the 2014-15 season when Chelsea beat Maribor 6-0 in the Champions League group stages.

The 19-year-old has shone during his time in the youth team for both club and country and he will want to demonstrate his true worth to his new boss next season.
